Melanie Strickland

Director of Operations

We’re excited to welcome Melanie Strickland to her role as operations Manager at R&R of Pensacola.⁣

Melanie brings us 20 years of craft beer and hospitality experience from around the U.S. back to her Pensacola home.⁣

Melanie comes to us after managing the Modern Times Brewery Dankness Dojo Los Angeles, a 10-barrel brewery and 60-employee satellite location of MT mothership in San Diego, one of the largest craft breweries in California. During her time there, Melanie was named one of four of downtown L.A.’s “drink experts” by the L.A. Downtown News, and some of her management practices have been replicated at MT’s other locations in Portland, Ore. and Oakland, Calif.⁣

Prior to that, Melanie managed a team of 30 at Beer Belly Koreatown, a renowned L.A. area craft beer bar. There, her team was in charge of curating the beer program for Coachella Music Festival each year and Beer Belly collaborated with notable California craft breweries like Monkish, The Bruery, Almanac, Firestone Walker and more.⁣

Before she went head first into the beer world, Melanie managed at the Four Seasons Seattle and at The Pool, the largest amenity at the Four Seasons Los Angeles.⁣

Melanie will oversee our front of house beer program and beer education across R&R as well as oversee many day-to-day operations including our Members Only Club, merchandise and more.⁣

Serendipitously, Melanie’s coming home in another sense - her first job in the industry was at the old Pensacola Melting Pot on 42 E. Garden St., the building that will be the future home of The Well.
